Martina Novotná

She graduated in Textile and Clothing Design at the Technical University of Liberec and then continued her Master's studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava in the field of free textile creation. After graduation, she worked for several years.      

From 2007 to 2018, she participated in various projects of People in Need, o.p.s. (5 years of which led the Nama project, a protected sewing workshop in Namibia, Africa). But her heart was the festival Jeden svět.   

In 2013, she founded Strojovna, an open creative textile and clothing workshop focusing mainly on repairs and adjustments to clothing and textiles, courses and rentals, which adhere to the principles of social entrepreneurship. He is also involved in Fast Fashion impact and awareness campaigns.

It promotes the principles of reducing, reuse and recycle because sharing is caring and less is more.
